Whether you are someone who likes to go out for a jog wearing your favorite sportswear as you wake up or hitting the nearest café to get a grab to eat before heading to work, no one can deny that a hot cup of coffee would be perfect, especially in the cold morning.
However, nowadays, the effects of coffee in health are quite controversial among society but it depends on who you ask, it is either a super coffee lover or an incredible dodger.
Regardless of what you may have heard, don't just jump to the conclusion. Let's dig in deeper on what you should know about coffee.
Coffee Contains Caffeine
Caffeine is the most commonly controversial word. In fact, it can enhance brain function and boost metabolism. Soft drinks, tea, and chocolate all contain caffeine, but coffee is the biggest source.
Caffeine is a known stimulant. In the brain, it blocks the function of a brain hormone called Adenosine which actually increases activity in the brain and the release of other neurotransmitters. This reduces tiredness and makes us feel more alert.
Coffee Lower Risk of Liver Diseases

It is very sensitive. If it is damaged, it can make you severely suffer for several stages and the end stage of liver damage is called Cirrhosis where most of the liver is replaced with scar tissue.
Liver cancer is common being the second leading killer. Coffee drinkers have up to a 40% lower risk of liver cancer.
Coffee Lower Risk of Depression

A test has shown that people who drank the most coffee had a 20% lower risk of becoming depressed.

Caffeine Can Cause Anxiety and Disrupt Sleep

Caffeine is Addictive
Missing a few cups can lead to someone to become moody for the people who become tolerant and addicted to it when they consume caffeine regularly.
It may cause a headache, tiredness, brain fog and irritability and can last for a few days.
How About Drinking Decaf?
Decaffeinated coffee (Decaf) is made by extracting caffeine from the coffee beans using solvents. Decaf and regular coffee seem like a twin but they do not have all of the same health benefits.
Decaffeination of coffee reduces the percentage of caffeine. However, decaf does also contain some caffeine, just much less than regular coffee and unfortunately, not all of the health benefits of regular coffee apply to decaffeinated coffee.
So, should you be drinking coffee?
There are some people who would definitely want to avoid or severely limit it, especially pregnant women and people with anxiety issues.
After all, it does seem clear that for the average person, coffee can have important beneficial effects on health.
