ZALORA SPORT

For the past few seasons, sporting apparel has become that of a fashion phenomenon. It is now a style essential, whether you’re a gym bunny or not. Launching on the 14th July 2015, The ZALORA Label will debut a new and exclusive activewear collection, ZALORA SPORT for women as well as a men’s collection. With a total of 45 pieces, the capsule offers stylish sporting pieces designed for various activities and personalities.

Offering high-fashion, comfortable and technical sportswear, the items in the collection are designed to be ideal for layering. By playing with proportions, a cropped slouchy tee or long-sleeved burnout top that falls off the shoulder will show off the printed bra which sits beneath. This in turn offers a new element of customisation and styling to the customer. The focus on performance, fit and function is still clear throughout — the carefully-considered detailing, such as purposely-made holes for your thumbs, mesh panelling and useful interior pockets, allow the fast-expanding fashion-meets-fitness sweet spot to be reached.

Each product is fully functional and offers a flattering silhouette in an on-trend fabric or print, all of which have been developed in-house exclusively for the collection. The grey-toned leopard print and abstract wave print are favourites, whether featured on full garments or as details that accent the collection. The full-mesh top is also a key statement piece that exudes an urban edge of style and sport chic.

Expect a colour palette consisting of black, grey, white, neon yellow, coral and mint. Though we love the brighter highlighting colours, the strong solid black pieces that feature mesh inserts and aerodynamic panelling are super sleek and stylish. They are pieces that we can turn to no matter the activity or season.

Sportswear as a fashion trend has been evolving for the past few years. Designers such as Alexander Wang and Stella McCartney have channelled a direction of sleek, minimal and luxurious styling into an effortless sports look — making it all the more desirable. Wearing gym clothes beyond the gym has never looked more appropriate than now and with prices from RM55.00 to RM89.00 there’s no reason not to.
